UPDATE (12:40 p.m.) - Roadways in Goleta have reopened after authorities determined the suspicious package, a backpack containing personal items, was not a hazard.

(11:04 a.m.) - Hollister Avenue in Goleta is closed from Los Carneros Road to Aero Camino due to a suspicious package investigation, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.

A KSBY News reporter at the scene reports that there is a significant amount of law enforcement activity near Goleta City Hall, and several people in a neighboring building have been evacuated.
