Santa Barbara County Fire Department crews are responding to a high-angle rope rescue at the More Mesa Open Space area.
Officials say a person is reported to be approximately 20 feet over the side of a coastal bluff. The individual appears to be a hang glider or paraglider. Crews are on scene and actively working to safely retrieve the person.
Officials ask the public to avoid the area to allow emergency operations to proceed safely.
