A shark warning is in place for the next 24 hours at Gaviota State Beach after a kayaker spotted a 14-foot white shark just offshore on Monday, according to lifeguards.
They say this is the second shark sighting since May 31, when another large great white was spotted in the same area.
Signage has been posted on the beach to warn visitors of the presence of sharks.
