Woman hit by train in Santa Barbara

Police say a woman was hit by a southbound passenger train Wednesday, August 12 near the 101 Freeway in Santa Barbara.

According to authorities the incident was reported around 3:20 p.m. on railroad tracks about 100 yards south of Las Positas Road.

The woman was found unconscious but breathing and had a pulse. She was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

The passenger train resumed operations around 4:15 p.m.

The circumstances surrounding the crash is under investigation.
