During a youth golf tournament fundraiser in Santa Maria, the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mid Central Coast raised more than $100,000 for local after-school programs.

The tournament was held at the Santa Maria Country Club on July 31, and brought out 128 golfers in support of the organization.

Players enjoyed a day of friendly competition, food, and a chance to take home cash prizes and gift certificates.

Following the tournament was a reception for golfers and their families in which CEO Maria Fabula spoke on the 60 year history of the club and future of the organization.

One lucky golfer went home with the grand prize of the Pebble Beach raffle. A paid trip to play on three different Pebble Beach courses and two rooms for two nights at one of the luxury properties nearby.

All funds raised at the tournament will go back into supporting families on the Central Coast with after-school care for more than 5,000 kids.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast will host another golf tournament at Hunter Ranch Golf Course in Paso Robles on Friday, October 2.
