Downtown Fridays returns to Santa Maria for another season this week.

This year, the event – featuring 25 food trucks, 70 vendors, a kids’ area, face painter, beer garden, and live music – will be located on McClelland Street between the Santa Maria Public Library and Boone Street.

Lupe Garcia and her family own G Brothers Kettle Corn in Nipomo. She said the event keeps getting bigger and bigger each year.

"It's a family, friendly event. We get a lot of bands that come out here so people like to come out and dance or just enjoy the music and then there’s so many food options, you know there’s something for everybody," Garcia said. "Family can buy something for their kids and also still get something for the parents so it’s great.“

Downtown Fridays will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Friday from March 27 through September 25, weather permitting.

Admission and parking are free.
