Authorities have identified a person who died after being hit by a car in Santa Maria.
They say 39-year-old Veronica Jimenez of Guadalupe was struck by a car around 8:39 p.m., on Sunday, August 9.
Officers and emergency personnel responded to the incident in the 100 block of West Battles Road.
Jimenez was provided with medical attention and transported to a local hospital, where she ultimately died as a result of her injuries.
The collision remains under investigation and the Santa Maria Police Department ask anyone with information to contact them.
