Students in Santa Maria competed in an adapted sports day on Friday morning. The second annual Sally Ostini Adapted Sports Day took place at Liberty Elementary School.
The day is meant to honor Sally Ostini, a teacher who spent 40 years teaching students with disabilities in the Santa Maria-Bonita School District.
The event also kicked off mobility awareness month. It highlights the need for inclusive spaces for more than 10 million Americans with exceptional support needs.
