A sewer improvement project is scheduled to begin today in downtown Santa Maria between Broadway and Depot Street.
The project will start at the intersection of Church and Depot Street, then head east towards Broadway. The $1.5 million project is expected to finish by late September this year.
Crews are reminding drivers to drive slowly and pay attention to signs as construction takes place.
