Authorities are trying to identify the person responsible for spray painting graffiti on a building at a Solvang hotel development.
It happened at the construction site on the corner of Mission Drive and Alisal Road.
The graffiti, in black uppercase lettering, reads, "Finish this please!"
In December, KSBY's Crystal Bermudez reported that construction on the cottage-style hotel project was on hold due to a disagreement between the city and the developer over design changes.
"We have a little bit of graffiti, but nothing like this," said Solvang City Manager Randy Murphy. "I mean, this is a specific, targeted attack on the developer and his property. We want to hear from the community, but not like this."
Murphy says it's believed the vandalism occurred Tuesday night. He says the city is working with the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office to locate surveillance video from neighboring businesses.
Murphy said he could not comment on the project itself due to current litigation.
City officials are urging anyone with information about this incident to contact the sheriff's office or the city directly at pio@cityofsolvang.com.
