KSBY’s Friday Night Highlights Week 11 Plays of the Week goes to St. Joseph’s senior quarterback Dino Maldonado’s passing touchdowns and Santa Maria quarterback Blake Truhitte named the Player of the Week.
Maldonado was 13 of 20 for 182 yards with three touchdowns, including two spectacular passes to Mike Ramirez and Nate Guzman. The quarterback also had eight carries for 98 yards and two touchdowns. He helped lead the Knights to a 49-44 victory over Harvard-Westlake in the CIF Southern Section Division 5 opener.
Truhitte is the FNH Week 11 Player of the Week for leading the Saints to its first playoff win in 23 years by throwing for 125 yards and three touchdowns, rushing for 139 yards and three touchdowns, and had a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Santa Maria defeated Carpinteria 56-28 to advance to the Division 12 quarterfinals.
