Ashlyn Wiswall of Cabrillo and Allan Hancock’s Jayden Vargas were named Norther Santa Barbara County Athletic Round Table Athletes of the Week.
Wiswall is a member of the Cabrillo girls golf team and shot a career-best 43 against Lompoc last Thursday as the Lady Conqs defeated the Lady Braves, 257-302.
Vargas, a freshman running back for the Allan Hancock College football team, rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown in the Bulldogs’ 28-21 victory over Citrus on Saturday.
“Coming into this week, they were the No. 1 defense in California,” Vargas said. “I knew I had a challenge ahead of me. I only had 80 yards but I can guarantee that every single yard was really hard-earned. They were a really good team that we played, so it was a breakout game for me.”
Allan Hancock will host Antelope Valley College on Saturday, October 6 at 2:00 P.M.
