KSBY’s Friday Night Highlights Week 7 ‘Game of the Week’ features an Ocean League match between San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria.
The Tigers are sitting on a 4-2 overall, 0-1 in league but more importantly, the team is playing its best season in seven years.
San Luis Obispo’s four wins this season matches the same amount of wins in its last three years combined.
Last year, the Tigers opened the season with a 45-10 loss against Santa Maria but this year’s squad for both teams is very different than last year.
“Coming back from last year, tough loss against Santa Maria, so this year we want to show them what we’ve prepared this offseason,” said Carson Silacci, San Luis Obispo senior center. “I feel like we’ve got a lot of good stuff, we like what we got going on, and we’re really prepared for this game.”
“I think it’s going to be a physical game. We’re really looking forward to it. They’re playing a really good brand of football, a physical, fast-paced brand of football, and we can only hope to match that intensity and execute with little mistakes as possible and come out with the win,” said Pat Johnston, San Luis Obispo head coach.
The Tigers host Santa Maria on Friday, kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
