It was a bittersweet moment for Joe Callero on Saturday night as he coached his final game as head coach of the Cal Poly men’s basketball team. The Mustangs were defeated by Blue-Green rival UC Santa Barbara, 92-82.
Cal Poly athletic director Don Oberhelman announced Wednesday afternoon that Callero would not be retained after the completion of the season. He finished his 10-year career at Cal Poly with a 126-184 overall record.
