In front of family, friends, and teammates, St. Joseph senior Joseph Domingues signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his running career for the United States Naval Academy (Annapolis, MD) on Wednesday afternoon at Elite Athletix in Orcutt.
Domingues has been a rockstar for the Knights on the cross country trail and around the track.
In his junior track season, Domingues set personal records in the 800-meter (1:55.52) and 1600-meter (4:15.87) runs.
Domingues says he’s ready to be a part of the Navy legacy while also continuing his passion for running.
“The Naval Academy puts a huge emphasis on athleticism and fitness,” Domingues said. “Being a part of the military, you have to be physically fit. The rivalry between Army and Navy is like nothing I’ve ever witnessed in my life before. I’m excited to be competing for Naval Academy.”
Domingues continued, “They graduate many great leaders from there, Presidents, Admirals, Generals, great leaders. I’m just excited to be a part of that tradition and carry on that prestigious legacy.”
