The Blues’ bullpen faltered late, giving up three runs in the top of the 9th, but future Cal Poly Mustang Taison Corio sent the fans home happy as San Luis Obispo walked it off in the 10th, securing the 4-3 win in front of a sellout crowd at Sinsheimer Park on Wednesday night.
Morro Bay grad Tyler Chivens was solid out of the bullpen, going three scoreless innings for the Blues. Hunter Swift got San Luis Obispo on the board with an RBI single into right field. Then, with Corio at the plate, Swift got caught stealing second, but the throw allowed Cole to race home from third, extending the Blues’ lead to 2-0.
