Teams from all over the Central Coast, as well as Bakersfield, hit the baseball diamonds at the Pismo Beach Sports Complex for the two-day tournament.
All of the proceeds for the Inaugural FORT Baseball Classic went toward future community events.
The tournament had a little bit of everything – from walk-off base hits, to great catches – the players did everything they could to honor the life of Ryan Teixeira.
The three winning teams were presented trophies and medals with Ryan’s name on them.
“Baseball is everything to these kids, so it’s interesting to be on the other side and it’s cool to see them having fun and getting out there to play ball,” FORT founder Tyler Auerbach said. “Youth baseball was one of Ryan’s greatest passions, so it’s been awesome to be able to give back to the youth baseball community.”
