At the junior college level, Allan Hancock held another signing this morning for a men’s basketball player who signed to play at a four-year university.
Xavier Cooper, a 1st team all-conference selection this past season, signed to play at Arizona Christian University. Cooper, originally from Denver, Colorado, says he’s excited for the opportunity.
“The way that coach was kind of talking to me and the role that I would have on the team, I really liked that. I can come in and make a big impact,” said Cooper. “The area, the nice weather – it’s going to be about 120 or 115. Just the support, the past they have with Shane (Carney) and Matt Willkomm – they definitely had a great career. I plan on doing the same, plus more. They’re a good team. All those played a factor in it.”
