The wait is officially over as youth sports are able to resume in San Luis Obispo county.

Singles tennis, track, and cross country began competing again this month, and now with the new guidelines in the county, soccer, football, and water polo will be able to return.

Youth sports are allowed to be played in San Luis Obispo county now that the COVID-19 rate has dropped below 14 cases per 100,000 people. For outdoor high-contact sports competitions, student-athletes and coaches are required to test for COVID-19 weekly.

The football season will begin on March 15 and there will be five games in league play. Practice with helmets begins on Monday.
