Temps will fade very gently into and thru the weekend

More sun actually boosted some temperatures today and with clear skies in the afternoons for the weekend the forecast is looking pretty good but cooler thanks to onshore flow.

Gusty north and northwest winds will blow across the Santa Barbara south coast through early Saturday. In fact a wind advisory for tonight has already been posted.

A passing trough did remove some of the mugginess that we experienced yesterday.

A minor trough in the jet stream is one of the reasons the weekend is looking mild. We'll likely see some marine clouds to start the day at beaches Saturday but I like it to back off in the morning. The thing is the afternoon breeze should be with us each day of the weekend.

Monday and Tuesday look very similar, perhaps slight warming but models are showing a large ridge developing late next week for a much warmer forecast.
