Two people killed in collision at Cholame “Y” intersection

UPDATE (6:46 a.m.) – CHP confirms two people have been killed in a collision at the Cholame "Y" intersection. Major injuries have been reported. At least 11 patients are involved. Crews are on scene now. All lanes are blocked. Drivers nearby should expect delays for several hours.


California Highway Patrol crews are en route to the Cholame "Y" intersection in San Luis Obispo County, where a multiple-vehicle collision is blocking all nearby lanes at the intersection of Highways 41 and 46.

The collision was reported at approximately 5:56 a.m. CAL FIRE said five vehicles are involved and there are ten patients. CHP has not given any details about injuries.

Callers report that all of the nearby lanes have been blocked. CHP said drivers nearby should expect major traffic delays for several hours.
