Organizations and churches are joining forces to help others in Santa Maria.
As part of the "Serve Santa Maria" event, volunteers did everything from painting a church to planting at schools and a nearby senior center.
The group said that their goal is to make Santa Maria better place. Volunteer, J.C. Nelson told KSBY,
"If you take a look at the neighborhood around here, keeping a building in the neighborhood beautiful is extremely important."
This church can be found on the corner of Barrett St. and Russell Ave., now with a fresh coat of paint.
