A woman was sent to the hospital after colliding with the center divider on Highway 101 in Santa Maria late Thursday night.
CHP said the woman was driving south at an unknown rate of speed just before midnight when she drifted and hit the center divider near the Donovan Road exit. Her car veered over the divide and sped across all northbound lanes before ending up on the shoulder.
She was transported to the hospital with major injuries. The Highway was partially closed overnight while officers were on scene. Investigators went to the hospital to talk with the woman after the crash.
They said she told them she does not remember how she crashed or the events leading up to it.
Traffic was clear by Wednesday morning commute times.
