A low-pressure system pushing over California could bring light showers and a chance of thunderstorms on Tuesday.

Models indicate areas along the South Coast in Santa Barbara County could be seeing rain as early as 2:00 p.m. By dinner time, the system will expand to the north and reach northern San Luis Obispo County. The unstable air with this system could also produce thunderstorms, particularly in the interior portions of the Central Coast. Rain totals for this system could bring up to 0.50’’ but will likely stay on the lighter side and closer to 0.10’’.

Temperatures will remain mild and mostly in the 60s. Low 60s are in the forecast for the beaches and coastal valleys, daytime highs could reach the mid to upper 60s in the interior portions.

Winds will also remain fairly breezy throughout the morning before decreasing in the afternoon. Expect them to be within a 10-15 mile per hour range before 11:00 a.m. before sticking close to 10 mph in the afternoon and then increasing again later in the evening.
