One more cool day before temps start to rebound

Extensive marine clouds and onshore flow caused inland temps to drop more than 20 degrees from yesterday’s highs.  A large trough in the jet stream will bottom out over the area Thursday before moving on.  This will mean Thursday temps will be in the 60s and low 70s inland with coastal temps in the 60s both at the beaches and near coastal valleys.  NW afternoon winds to 20 should help to produce more clearing than we saw Wednesday.

High pressure quickly returns Friday-Sunday. This condition will warm everyone but especially inland where Paso Robles could hit 100 degrees Sunday. I think coastal locations will be 80s for the upcoming weekend with 70s at the beaches.

Another trough in the jet stream will bring temps back down a little early next week for near normal temps inland.
