Inland hot weather streak looks to continue a while

Paso Robles surpassed 100 for the 15th day, we broke record of 13 over the weekend.  Based on modeling looks like we could add another 7 days from where we are.  A stubborn ridge over The West will keep the heat on inland.  Interestingly the increase in pressure produced offshore winds this morning and Pismo Beach hit 100, absolutely smashing the record of 80 from 1983.  Granted that’s a low record temp but anytime you beat the record by 20 it is worth noting.

We’ll see a blend of temps redevelop over the next few days as the marine layer will make a bit of a comeback at immediate beach town but the relief won’t make it far inland.  So, places like SLO will be near 90 until Thursday. Southcoast temps will also be 90 or warmer thru Thursday while Santa Maria hovvers in the middle 80s.

I think a few beaches could still near 90 Tuesday but more marine layer Wednesday will start to pull temps down.

Onshore winds will me more dominant threat of the week helping to take the edge off extreme heat close to the coast.

Models were hopeful for some cooling this weekend inland but newer runs suggest we could be hot into early next week as well.
