A trough of low pressure will into the Pacific Northwest as high pressure over the West is showing some weakness that should allow for some cooling over the weekend.

A slight cooling trend will continue into the weekend. Coastal valleys will reach the high 70’s, inland locations are expected to hit the high 90’s, and beaches will remain in the 60’s.

The marine layer hugging the coast may become more widespread through Sunday night, but will likely remain patchy in nature.

A moist air mass remains over the area with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast for the mountains and desert into Saturday evening.
