Winter weather advisory issued for interior SLO valleys

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the interior valleys of San Luis Obispo, starting 3 a.m. Sunday and lasting through 3 a.m. Monday.

Snow showers and gusty winds are expected with the potential for icy roadways. Snow levels will drop from 2,000 to 3,000 feet with total snow accumulations of one to two inches.

Roadways that could be affected by light snow include Highway 58.

A Winter Weather Advisory has also been issued for Santa Barbara County and Cuyama Valley. Total snow accumulations between one to three inches are expected, mainly above 3500 feet between early Sunday morning and early Monday morning with up to an inch on the valley flood possible.

Northwest winds 15 to 30 mph are forecast.

Three to six inches of snow with local amounts up to 8 inches are expected above 5,000 feet in the mountains of Santa Barbara County. Up to two inches are expected around 2,500 feet Monday morning.
