A dense fog advisory is back in place Tuesday morning, stretching from northern San Luis Obispo County to northern Santa Barbara County. Visibility could be around 1/4 mile or less in patches of dense fog, so its important drivers have their low beam headlights on and increase their following distance as needed. Weather models show the fog should start to let up around 8:00 a.m. but could remain patchy along the coast and coastal valleys through late morning.

Morning temperatures will still be chilly with coastal valley lows right around the mid to upper 40s, and the inland valleys staying pretty close to the upper 30s to low 40s. Daytime highs will remain on the warmer side for the inland valleys with maximum temperatures reaching the mid-80s and the mid-70s to low 80s for the coastal valleys. The beaches will be slightly cooler with peak temperatures around the upper 60s.

The weekend looks warmer as an upper ridge will move in over the state Friday. The warm weekend will be followed by cooler daytime highs at the start of next week.
