Firefighters are on scene of a fire that broke out along Highway 1 near Vandenberg Air Force Base Tuesday evening.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department said the fire was reported just after 6:15 p.m. along the highway north of the base’s main gate.
The fire is estimated to be three acres and was spreading at a slow rate, officials said.
A helicopter was requested to assist in the firefight.
No word on the cause or any road closures in the area.
