UPDATE (9:27 p.m.) - A COVID-19 positive case was present with one of the people assigned to the Pond Fire, according to a CAL FIRE press release.

Officials said the case was a kitchen worker who was not at the base camp when they tested positive. They are asymptomatic, and his module has been quarantined.

CAL FIRE said they are confident this is an isolated case because the person had no close contact with fire personnel.

According to the press release, they are working with the San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department.
