UPDATE (1:33 p.m.) - CHP reports all lanes of traffic are now open after a brush fire along southbound Highway 101 at San Ramon Rd. in Atascadero.

UPDATE (1:25 p.m.) - The Atascadero Fire Department reports that forward progress of the fire has been stopped.
Fire crews are now mopping up. Traffic is reportedly still moving slowly through the area.

(1:07 p.m.) - Firefighters were responding to a brush fire that broke out Thursday afternoon along Highway 101 in Atascadero.
It was reported shortly before 1 p.m. along the southbound lanes at San Ramon Rd.
CAL FIRE reported the fire was approximately 1/4-acre in size and burning in light flashy fuels.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the southbound slow lane was closed.
