Small brush fire causes traffic backup on Hwy 101 in Los Alamos

UPDATE (3:12 p.m.) - The Santa Barbara County Fire Department reports the fire is about 1-acre in size burning in the center divider of Highway 101 near Alisos Canyon Road south of Los Alamos.

CHP is on scene providing traffic control.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

ORIGINAL STORY (2:40 p.m.) - A brush fire that broke out in the center divider of Highway 101 near Los Alamos was reportedly creating traffic issues because of heavy smoke.

The fire was reported at about 2:15 p.m.

According to the California Highway Patrol, smoke from the fire was causing poor visability for drivers and traffic was coming to a stop.
