A fire burned about a 1/2-acre of brush in the Salinas Riverbed in Paso Robles on Tuesday afternoon.
The fire was first reported at about 3:10 p.m. just north of Highway 46 East near North River Rd.
Firefighters say forward spread of the fire has been stopped but crews will remain on scene for some time to conduct mop up.
