CAL FIRE responds to brush fire in Huasna area

UPDATE (7:05 p.m.) - The fire burned 20 acres, according to CAL FIRE SLO.

Firefighters are expected to remain on scene for an additional two hours to complete mop up operations.

UPDATE (5:52 p.m.) - Fire officials say forward progress of the fire has been stopped.

UPDATE (5:29 p.m.) - CAL FIRE reports the fire has burned 15 acres.

(4:26 p.m.) - Firefighters were responding to a brush fire that broke out Wednesday afternoon in the Huasna area.

The fire was reported just before 4 p.m. in the area of Huasna Townsite Road and Coyote Springs Road.

According to initial reports from CAL FIRE SLO, the fire has burned approximately four acres of grass on ranch land.

No structures are threatened and the fire is burning at a slow rate of spread.

CAL FIRE said the fire has the potential to grow to 30 acres.
