UPDATE (12:14 p.m.) - By 12:10 p.m., the fire was reportedly contained and traffic was again moving in both directions.

(12:08 p.m.) - Firefighters responded to a fire that started as a vehicle fire near the intersection of Highways 41 and 46, also known as the Cholame Y.
The fire was first reported at about 11:50 a.m. Thursday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, flames from the vehicle fire spread to the nearby grass.
