An early morning vegetation fire Thursday broke out near the Shandon Rest Area on Hwy 46.
CAL FIRE first reported the flames around 5:11 a.m.
As of this posting, two fire engines were on site to put out the 50 by 100 ft blaze. CAL FIRE expects the fire to be put out soon.
The cause is unknown at this time.
