Fire burns near Bob Jones Trail in San Luis Obispo

UPDATE (3:24 p.m.) - City officials say firefighters were able to contain the fire before it spread to nearby neighborhoods.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Investigators are reportedly working to interview homeless people in the area, as well as coordinating with the fire department's Mobile Crisis Unit and CAPSLO to connect homeless individuals with shelter options.

No one was hurt as a result of the fire and no structures were damaged.

(1:58 p.m.) - Firefighters are responding to a brush fire near the Bob Jones Trail in San Luis Obispo.

It was reported just before 1:45 p.m.

The fire is burning on the east side of Highway 101 between Los Osos Valley Road and Prado Road.

Smoke is not affecting the highway at this time.
