CAL FIRE SLO responded to reports of a vegetation fire off Highway 41 west outside of Atascadero.
The vegetation fire was reported in the west Old Morro Road area around noon Saturday.
CAL FIRE SLO said in a tweet the fire reached just one-quarter of an acre and spread at a slow rate.
Fire crews including the Atascadero Fire Department were able to make "good progress".
The fire was fully contained shortly afterwards.
There is no word yet on the cause of the fire.
