A portion of Black Road west of Santa Maria is closed following a vegetation fire Monday.
The fire broke out shortly before 2:15 p.m. near Black Road and Dutard Road near Tanglewood.
Santa Barbara County Fire says when crews arrived on scene, the grass fire was about five acres in size and was being pushed by strong winds.
Crews made quick progress and were able to cancel airtankers and dozers.
Fire officials say the fire was burning toward an agricultural field and eventually put itself out.
Crews remained on scene as of 3:30 p.m.
Black Road from Tanglewood to Highway 1 was closed due to wires that were down across the road.
Fire officials say the cause of the fire, which burned between 15 and 20 acres, remains under investigation.
No structures were threatened and no injuries reported.
