Juan Fire
UPDATE (5:43 p.m.) - CAL FIRE SLO reports the fire is 70% contained. Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene into the evening for mop-up.

UPDATE (3:59 p.m.) - The fire is now 60% contained, according to CAL FIRE SLO.

UPDATE (3:17 p.m.) - CAL FIRE SLO reports that forward progress of the fire has been stopped and it is 42% contained.
At last check, the fire had burned an estimated 15 acres.

(1:37 p.m.) - Firefighters are battling a brush fire east of Santa Margarita.
The fire was first reported at about 12:50 p.m. near the 5000 block of E. Pozo Road.
As of 1:30 p.m., CAL FIRE SLO reported that the Juan Fire has burned roughly five acres.
The cause is under investigation.
Jade Fire
(5:34 p.m.) - Another small brush fire broke out Thursday afternoon in northern San Luis Obispo County.
The Jade Fire was reported at about 3:55 p.m. in the area of Jade Canyon Way and Rocky Canyon Road east of Atascadero, burning about one acre.
By 4:50 p.m., CAL FIRE SLO reported that the fire was 100% contained.
