CAL FIRE SLO is conducting a controlled burn east of Santa Margarita on Monday.
Fire officials say crews are burning approximately 23 acres with the goal of reducing wildfire risk and improving oak woodland habitat.
Smoke may be visible in the surrounding area, including to motorists traveling on Highway 101.
