UPDATE (7:29 p.m.) - CAL FIRE reports that forward progress of the fire has been stopped.
Firefighters are now working on control lines and mopping up.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

(6:51 p.m.) - A brush fire broke out at Cal Poly early Tuesday evening.
The fire was reported at about 6:30 p.m. next to the Bishop apartment building, which is part of the on-campus Cerro Vista Apartments.

As of about 6:50 p.m., the fire was reported to be about an acre in size with a moderate rate of spread.
Crews from CAL FIRE and San Luis Obispo City Fire are on scene.
Firefighting aircraft are also responding.
