UPDATE (9:00 p.m.) - Santa Barbara County Fire Department Public Information Officer Daniel Bertucelli says the fire is out.
Captain Bertucelli says crews, that included four engines and one battalion chief, were committed to the scene for about an hour.
All crews have left and lanes are back open with traffic flowing.

UPDATE (6:15 p.m.) - The Santa Barbara County Fire Department says traffic on Highway 101 is slow in both directions as firefighters battle a brush fire that broke out near El Sueno Rd. in Santa Barbara.
The fire broke out on the northbound side of the highway, burning the vegetation between the 101 and Calle Real.
Westbound Calle Real has been closed at El Sueno Rd.
There have been no reports of injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

(5:46 p.m.) - Santa Barbara County firefighters were responding to a vegetation fire off Highway 101 at El Sueno Rd. in Santa Barbara.
The fire was first reported at about 5:20 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the northbound El Sueno onramp to Highway 101 was shut down as a result of the fire, along with nearby Calle Real.
