Santa Barbara County is increasing its firefighting resources over the next 24 hours.

A Heat Advisory is currently in effect for the Central Coast until 5 p.m. on Friday and winds could also be a concern.

As a result, the fire department is prepositioning an additional 13 engines, three dozers, two water tenders, two crews, and one helicopter throughout the county.

CAL FIRE SLO says it has also upstaffed to prepare for the weather.

The agency has deployed two battalion chiefs to the Kincade Fire in Sonoma County, but says they remain fully staffed for any potential incidents in San Luis Obispo County.
