The Mill Fire, which broke out July 30 in the Big Sur area, is now 98 percent contained, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

The fire is expected to be fully contained by 11 p.m. Monday.

A Forest Closure Order issued for the Mill Fire area of the Los Padres National Forest has been lifted and Nacimiento-Fergusson Rd., which had been closed since the fire broke out, has been reopened.

Cone Peak Rd. from Nacimiento-Fergusson Rd. to Cone Peak and South Coast Ridge Rd. from Nacimiento-Fergusson Rd. to Chalk Peak remain closed.

Forest Service officials say the fire burned 310 acres.

Just one engine crew remains on scene, working to increase containment and put out hot spots within the containment line.
