About one week later, the Pond Fire burning near Santa Margarita and Creston is now 100% contained and the burned acreage remains at 1,962 acres, according to CAL FIRE SLO officials.
The fire that started Saturday, August 1st off of Kata Creek Rd. and Oak Creek Place, destroyed one structure and damaged another.
There are no longer any structures threatened and all evacuation warnings have been lifted.
Huer Huero Road from HWY 58 to Random Canyon has reopened.
Fire officials say one first responder was injured.
