California State Parks in cooperation with the Air Pollution Control District and Cal Fire will be conducting Prescribed Burns in the vicinity of the eucalyptus forest near Camp Keep, the environmental camp sites in Montana de Oro State Park, and the pine forest at Hearst San Simeon State Park near the campground.
The prescribed fires could start as early as 7 a.m. and as late as 5 p.m. between Wednesday Dec. 3 and Friday December 6, 2019.
Burning of brush piles and standing dead trees, pine pitch canker reduces the fuel for potential wildfires.
