Marine layer is filling in along the coast and over coastal valleys Wednesday morning. By about 9:00 a.m., valley locations should start to see some sunshine, while the beaches will take most of the morning to be clear of any fog.

Northwesterly winds will be mild to moderate by the afternoon hours, ranging from 15-20 miles per hour at their peak. The exception to this will be the south coast region near Refugio and Gaviota where wind speeds are expected to reach 30 mph. Sundowner winds are expected to play a factor in the forecast through Thursday for the south coast region, and wind speeds could reach 45 mph through that time period.

Daytime highs are also trending up slightly Wednesday across the inland valley communities. Most interior areas will stay in the 90s, but it's possible that communities across the deeper interior valley could get pretty close to triple-digits. Due to the increase in temperatures, wildland fire index ratings will be at high level for the deep interiors.

The coastal valleys will continue to have a range of temperatures from the mid-70s to the low 80s, and the beaches will stay close to the mid-60s to low 70s. After the mild warm-up for the inland valleys Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures will start to trend down for the weekend. In some cases, interior valley temperatures could be a few degrees below average and closer to the upper 80s.
