Good morning Central Coast!
This morning is off to a beautiful start, sunshine from the interior valleys to the beaches. The only spot with some cloud cover is around Lompoc where some fog has settled in. Good news though, that fog will clear out quickly as we move into the mid morning.
Today's clear skies in the interiors will once again help to warm things up but on the whole we are beginning a cooling trend as high pressure weakens and pushes east. Very weak low pressure will take over with stronger onshore winds cooling things down into the weekend but another high pressure is right on our doorstep and will make for a hot Sunday and start to the week.
Temps today will be in the mid 90s for the interiors, upper 70s and low 80s for the coastal valleys and beaches will be around 60. When you think of summer weather across the Central Coast this is the template we often see.
Friday and Saturday temps will fall even more. Upper 80s will be the story in interior valleys, this is the first time temps will be below normal (slightly) in nearly a week.
Sunday, that next high pressure will arrive. Marine layer influence will thin and offshore winds will kick in. Sunday afternoon highs will once again reach the triple digits for the interior valleys.
Monday and Tuesday the high pressure will remain strong but will begin to weaken and shift eastward. Onshore flow will increase, bringing a few degrees of cooling, especially in areas west of the mountains. Expect an increase in night through morning, with low clouds and fog coverage.
Have a great day Central Coast!
